He might be the most insensitive doctor I have ever met and should be the last person working with people. He was often 30 min or more late to our appointments, would only talk to me for a few minutes only to increase my medication dose despite knowing my sensitivity to medications. I always felt like he was uncomfortable when he was talking to me and felt immensely judged by him.
I ended up in an antidepressant induced mania due to his prescriptions and could not get the immediate help I needed. Essentially, I was late for an appointment once (by 15 minutes) and hospital policy stated he still had to see me, but he refused and tried to charge me a fee instead.
The hospital staff supported me and suggested I try talking to him about my situation. They also told me how he was ruthless to his other female patients and would refuse to see girls who were only a few minutes late, leaving them crying in the waiting room. When I tried to speak to him, he slammed the door in my face and then hid in his office. All I wanted to do was talk to him, as I was in desperate need of help at the time and was trying to follow hospital policy.
When I reported him to the hospital manager, he changed my appointment by an hour (so it looked like I was more than 15 minutes late) despite having voicemail proof. Worst of all, he lied and told the hospital manager that I tried attacking him, when he was the one whole slammed the door in my face when all I did was attempt to talk to him about my worsening situation and mania.
He discharged me as his patient and refused to see me without security, which was the most offensive, dehumanizing statement of my life as I am not a violent person. So, to save my pride, I went to camh emergency to get the help I needed where they diagnosed me with potential bipolar and immediately made me get of the meds he had prescribed. If only he was more attentive and caring, I could have saved a year of suffering within this manic state that almost ruined my life.
Zero humanity, zero compassion, truly a monster. Would not recommend to anyone who wants to be treated as a person and not a label. He is very judgmental and will stigmatize you. Last person we need in the mental health community!
I would start a petition if I could, but people like him will always deceive the truth and remain on top. A truly horrifying experience. This is my unfortunate truth. I wish I never had a doctor like him and I wish I didn’t have to go through the darkest most terrifying moment of my life because of doctors like him.
Overall, an awful doctor that reflects the corrupt and dehumanizing nature of the mental health system as they only care about profiting off of you rather than treating you.
