Dr. Machado was incredibly efficient with our appointments yet still took the time to answer any questions I had. She worked with me to offer options and respected my choice each time. Her and her team demonstrated allyship both in the office and in the OR. Dr. Machado consistently checked in on my pronouns and ensured her team treated me with respect, through an inclusive lens. She confidently stood up for me as a trans/non-binary patient when working with hospital staff who were not as informed. I felt confident that Dr. Machado had my best interests in mind and felt safe under anesthesia with her in the OR.
