This review is in response to having Danyluk as my assigned psychiatrist during a stay at RVH after the pandemic started.
She has a history of inappropriate conduct towards patients with borderline personality disorder and other PDs. I confided in her as my attending doctor that I was concerned abiut undiagnosed autism, which she simply handwaived. Went by the philosophy of never telling anyone with suspected or confirmed BPD about their condition directly. It often was more detrimental than gossip. Other patients have unsuccessfully complained about similar conduct to try and have the matter resolved non punitively. CAMH diagnosed my autism two years later, and acknowledged my co occuring mental and physical disabilities. This problem isn’t unique to Danyluk, but her conduct could improve. RVH Inpatient Mental Health should be aware that there’s a way to approach ASD being outside their capacity to assess and support, so we don’t have incidents of doctors stumping in arrogantly into discriminatory misconduct. Also my outpatient psychiatrist was there. She could’ve put in an iota more effort to idk ask instead of assume and seek my consent for things she couldn’t breach consent to figure out. Sadly it leads me to leave she’s more so in it for clout rather than an orchestrated effort to mistreat patients in various states of crisis. More “I can’t be bothered” than “here’s how I’m going to torment BPD women”. Either way it was jarring. There’s enough cluster B hats forums for people. Certainly wasn’t expecting that at a hospital. No surprise, most but not all forensic psychiatrists enjoy bullying patients.
