Very good psychiatrist. Made me feel very comfortable in her office.
In October 2024, I ran out of one of my antidepressants and called Dr. Racicovschi’s office for a renewal. During a period of 10 days, I left 3 messages each time indicating that I needed a prescription refill and that I was going through withdrawal. I was beginning to feel desperate and finally sent an email to patient relations outlining the above. Within less than 48 hours, I received a call back saying I had an appointment for January 2025 with no mention made of my much more urgent request for a prescription refill. In the meantime, I had started having suicidal thoughts and was having trouble coping with everyday life. After a few very distressing weeks, I called her office to say that I wanted to cancel my January appointment because I would be looking for another psychiatrist. I never got a call back. Now that I am better, I suppose her defense to this would be that I should have gone to ER, but patients with mental health issues don’t think clearly. Going to ER for a prescription refill of a non narcotic antidepressant is absurd anyway. I was not one of those pestering patients who was always calling with minor complaints. Quite the opposite. This was the first time this ever happened to me, and I felt very let down. I feel this was a dereliction of duty and one that a psychiatrist should be very ashamed of.
