We were unfortunate to have had Dr Menezes assigned to our Mothers care at Mt St Joseph’s hospital. My mother is 89 years old and has dementia & was in the hospital with an infection. During a telephone conversation with this Dr she showed no real empathy; nor care, other than trying to suggest that we allow restraint to be put on our mother who was scared & wanted to get out of bed. We emphatically did not allow her permission to use restraints on our mother; as it would further traumatized her. Dr Menezes response was well what do you want us to do? I indicated to her that you are suppose to be the Dr what are you suppose to do medically. Have you analyzed her urine? Does my mother possibly have UTI. This Dr was clueless. Unfortunately her bedside manner was even worse in person. One of the nurses at the hospital was kind enough to point to where Dr Menezes was standing. When i approached this Dr I introduced myself & my 90 year old father and my mother, this Dr did not acknowledge us & dismissed us & continued to talk to her admin person about a movie she saw on the weekend. In our experience with Dr Menezes she demonstrated no real form of professional nor integrity in which a real Dr should possess. Our mother is still in the hospital and we are greatful Dr Menezes rotation ended and that our mother is no longer in her care.
