On my first appointment with Dr Merkel she diagnosed me with POTS. I am pretty certain that I have had POTS for decades and have seen many doctors during that time and none of them identified disautonomology of any kind other than Dr Merkel. When I was referred to a Disautonomologist and after waiting about a year to hear back found out my referral was declined due to capacity it was Dr. Merkel who stepped up to help me. I’m not sure what I would have done without her as she is the only doctor I have seen in years that has helped me.
