Dr Espino left me with nerve injuries, reduced bladder function. Then medically gaslit me into believing my pain and symptoms were because she had to cathetrize me during surgery.
Apparently I’m not the only patient she has injured during surgery.
DO NOT see her if you want to avoid injuries during surgery.
Dr Paula Espino ruined my life. I had endometriosis and I thought a ‘simple’ laparoscopy surgery to remove some endometriosis would be no problem- especially being my 3rd.
Nope. The slits the Drs cut into me were sewed together too tightly after she was finisged– severely restricting my movements. I was left with permanent bladder damage and retention. I have permanent nerve injury and pain to my genitals. I was a previously very happy/sexually active woman in her 30s and zero pain during any forms of sexual activity. Now I cannot have sex without severe pain. It’s agonising to even sit down. This Dr does not know what she’s doing… or something went horribly wrong during my surgery. Several Drs gaslit me and denied my reality. Medical gaslighting is well and alive in Kelowna. The Hippocratic oath ‘do no harm’s is a joke.
If she wanted to help me she would have told my Drs what she did during my surgery so it could be fixed. Accountability and apologies mean so much. But apparently patients can’t even get those.
STAY AWAY if you don’t want to be injured. Apparently I’m the 2nd of 3 patients she’s injured in 3 years who have spoken up…
